The short study “Manufacturers online: Potential 2020 – Rising Stars of Online Retail?” by ECC Cologne and 004 GmbH examines the online potential for manufacturers in various sectors. For this purpose, the maturity levels of different retail sectors were determined. In addition to the status quo, the respective sales potential up to 2020 was calculated. Furthermore, the study repeatedly confirms the importance of an integrated online/offline strategy for manufacturers together with their retail partners, from which both ultimately benefit. After all, having your own online store not only leads to higher sales, but also makes a decisive contribution to brand building. Manufacturers can also score points with important differentiating features such as service, reliability and trust.
